Gavin Coon

Manager of Chapter Leadership

Gavin Coon is the Manager of Chapter Leadership for FAIR.  He became involved with FAIR soon after college.  His undergrad experience at a time of pronounced political polarization convinced him that change was sorely needed.  He sees nonpartisan, open-minded organizations like FAIR as a crucial part of that change.

In his role, Gavin is responsible for organizing the leaders in FAIR’s Chapter Network.  His organizational skills are additionally applied to FAIR at large.  Gavin helps schedule many different aspects of FAIR’s operations, including webinars and events, as well as meetings for staff and FAIR’s Executive Director, Monica Harris.

In his free time, Gavin is an avid reader and music-lover.  Two foundational books Gavin would recommend to anybody hoping to further decipher the culture wars of our time are The Image: A Guide to Pseudo-Events in America and Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show BusinessGavin believes that a core problem of today’s culture is a societal mode that has been cultivated by technological advances, a mode that does not encourage substantive conversation and exchange of ideas.  Our society and the subsequent decisions we make thus suffer.
