North Carolina Passes Anti-Critical Race Theory Legislation in Both Houses.

On August 26, 2021, the North Carolina Senate approved the Ensuring Dignity and Nondiscrimination in Schools. The North Carolina House approved an earlier version of the bill (House Bill 324) in May 2021.  The Senate’s version will now be sent back to the House.  Provided the House passes the bill, it will be sent to Governor Roy Cooper, who has indicated he intends to veto the legislation.  At this time there does not appear to be enough support for the bill in the legislature to override a potential veto.
