El Paso/Teller Chapter

The Colorado El Paso County and Teller County Chapter of the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism (FAIR) launched in September of 2021. FAIR is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing civil rights and liberties for all Americans, and promoting a common culture based on fairness, understanding and humanity.

If you are located in the area, sign up to become a member. We have community online forums; we do outreach, advocacy, and educational campaigns; and we hold in-person meetups.

The research is clear: a focus on shared identity, common ground, and similarities foster greater peace, communication, and relationships. Focusing on differences and making social identities salient create ingroup preferences and outgroup anxieties, leading to more division. There is a way to honor unique cultural and social identities while keeping common humanity at the forefront. This is the Pro-Human approach.
