Stephanie Guerra is the Managing Director of Education at the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR). Previously, she taught in the College of Education at Seattle University and led volunteer creative writing programs at King County Jail and King County Juvenile Detention Center. Her literacy research has been published in the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, Children’s Literature in Education, and other scholarly outlets. She is the recipient of the 2015 Bonnie Campbell Hill Washington State Literacy Leader Award for her work as a teacher leader, the 2014 Virginia Hamilton Essay Award for her research on building literacy with at-risk teens, and numerous literacy and arts grants. Stephanie received her MFA from the University of Notre Dame and her BA in elementary education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In her free time, she enjoys reading and hiking with her husband and children.
