FAIR Schools

Become a FAIR School. Commit to inclusive, pro-human education.

What is a FAIR School?

A FAIR School aligns with our mission of advancing civil rights and liberties for all Americans, and promoting a common culture based on fairness, understanding, and humanity. FAIR Schools provide an inclusive learning environment that recognizes both our unique identities and common humanity. FAIR Schools encourage curiosity and critical inquiry, welcome a diversity of opinions and perspectives, and teach students to engage in civil discourse as a constructive means toward a better and more unified future.

What are the Requirements?

To become a FAIR School, schools must commit to the FAIR Pledge. A FAIR School will implement training, standards, and curricula that uphold FAIR’s pro-human values and will commit to treating students, teachers and staff with fairness and understanding regardless of their immutable traits or circumstances of their birth. All schools — private, public, charter, religious, secular — are encouraged to apply.

How do I Apply?

To apply to become a FAIR School, click on the “apply now” button to complete the application. The FAIR Schools team will review your application and may follow up with additional questions or for more information.

What are the benefits?

Becoming a FAIR School demonstrates to parents, students, and teachers that you have created a learning environment that avoids the harmful divisiveness of illiberal ideologies and instead counters racism and all forms of intolerance with an emphasis on fairness, understanding and common humanity. In addition: FAIR Schools will receive curriculum, training and other materials to help promote pro-human values in the classroom. FAIR schools provide a constructive example to the community of how to foster understanding through compassionate and pro-human anti-racism. FAIR Schools receive a FAIR Certificate, along with a FAIR logo badge, that they can proudly display on their websites, materials, and in their facilities to remind all of our shared humanity.

We encourage you to read our materials and watch our videos as you complete your application. We look forward to receiving your application.
